A user account is getting the error message that their mailbox is
full. We pull almost all of the files to an offline message yet the
exchange store shows his mailbox as 1.5gb? Do we need to run ESEUTIL
or ISINTEG to compact the database.?
PST files are the devil. Don't use them. If the data is important, it's
important enough to keep in the mail or public folder store. That's my vote,
anyway. See
http://www.exchangefaq.org/faq/Exchange-5.5/Why-PST-=-BAD-/q/Why-PST-=-BAD/qid/1209
That said, do not run eseutil for this; it won't help and is not meant to be
used for maintenance purposes anyway (and isinteg doesn't compact, it
repairs) - if the user has moved/removed mail from the mailbox and emptied
the deleted item folder, you may just need to wait for Exchange to realize
it. Check the reported mailbox size in ESM.
