All users email, contacts and calendars moved to deleted items folder...

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Any idea of why this would have happened would be great. On Friday
night at 1am, everyones emails, contacts and calendars were moved to
the deleted items folder and had to be recovered one folder at a time,
that was not fun. I checked the exchange logs and there's nothing
strange happening there, the last thing that happened before everything
was moved was a sucessful backup of the the email stores, which happens
on a nightly basis. Nothing out of the ordinary in the events log at
all. We're running a 2k3 domain, exchange 2k3, real standard stuff
here.

Any help on why this would have happend would be much appreciated.
