Re: Exchange System Manager 2003 crashes

Reinstalling just System Manager is not reinstalling Exchange. ESM is just
the management piece. It can be installed on XP to remotely manage an
Exchange Server.

Hi Chance,
Would reinstalling exchange delete my settings like the SMTP's and the
users configured etc. What about the emails of the users like the exchange
database. Would that be affected ?? Could you please let me know if
anything
would be affected in terms of settings etc if I reinstall

Thanks & regards,
Joel

Hi,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand you can not launch Exchange
System Manager on your SBS server. If I have misunderstood your concern,
please feel free to let me know.

Based on my experience, I would like to provide you following action plan
to resolve this issue:

Action 1
=======
1. Run Cmd to open a command window on the SBS server. Switch to the SBS
2003 CD2, locat to \exchsrvr65 and then run "setup ".

2. Select "Install Exchange System Management Tools Only"

3. Once the installation is completed, install Exchange 2003 SP1.

4. And then, reinstall SBS 2003 SP1.

5. Reinstall exchange 2003 SP2

Does this issue persist after reinstall ESM?

Action 2
=======
Install the Exchange System Manager on another machine and then connect
to
the server, does it still stop responding?

More info please refers to following MS Knowledge Base Article:

Please let me know the result at your earliest convenience. Should you
have
any concerns, please feel free to let me know.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
