Hi Alan,
Thanks for posting here.
It appears that you are dealing with multiple issues that will require
individual attention to ensure that we are not counter-productive in out
support efforts. A suggestion in this post would be to post these issues
separately so that contributors within this newsgroup who specialize in
certain feature will be able to provide the 'value add' to resolving these
issues.
It is important to us that we provide you with the best support possible
and by breaking down these issues separately we will be able to address
them appropriately and in a timely manner.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Here, I will focus on your first question.
Q1. Please can you tell me where it is exactly.
A1. Based on my experience, To disable the AutoPlay feature, I suggest that
you use the "TweakUI" utility. To do so, please perform the following steps:
1. Download and install TWeakUI from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiP
owertoySetup.exe
Download TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe file and double-click to install TWeakUI.
For more information, please see:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
2. After installing TWeakUI, click Start, All Programs, Powertoys for
Windows XP, and then click TWeakUI for Windows XP.
3. In TWeakUI, expand the My Computer branch. Then expand Autoplay. Under
Autoplay, click Drives. Clear the check beside the letter of the USB Drive.
4. Click Types, clear the option beside "Enable Autoplay for removable
drives"
5. Exit TWeakUI. Restart your computer.
Then, restart your computer and test this issue. Does the AutoPlay feature
still run on this drive? If this problem continues, please refer to the
following link to set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun registry value in the
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explor
er] registry key to the appropriate value. The first bit of the value
corresponds to drive A:, the second to B:, and so on. To disable AutoRun
for one or more drive letters, set the corresponding bits. For example, to
disable the A: and C: drives, set NoDriveAutoRun to 0x00000005.

I hope the above information helps.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
