Remote office setup -- VPN Tunnel vs TS

I just deployed an SBS server to a new client along with an upgrade of 12
workstations to XP Pro. Having great results (primarly in productivity), the
client wants to expand and setup a remote office in a small town about 1/2
hour away. The client runs a 3rd party application that stores its data and
critical accounting files on the SBS server under a shared drive mapping.

Here's the dilemma. I know its possible to setup a VPN tunnel from the
remote office to the main office easily. We tried a straight VPN
connectivity from a hotel back to the main office and was able to map the
drives and access the application fine with no speed issues.

However, the 3rd party support recommends that I setup a TS server (which I
have never done before -- I guess you install Win2k3 Server standard?) at
the main office and then have the remote office use TS sessions to access
the 3rd party application.

The customer doesn't have a large setup so we are looking at maybe 3
additional users that would be using the TS environment if we had to go that
route for the remote office. Since I know its possible to hook up a TS
server to the existing domain, what will I need in the way of licenses for
the remote office access users to the SBS server?

The connection at both sites is a DSL (3mb down/1mb up), but we do have the
option of installing a T1 line if it is really necessary.

Thanks.
