RE: Companyweb via RWW

thanks Jenny, I didn't realize that's how it worked when coming from the
internet. That's fine, I'm going to leave it like that and not setup
anonymous login.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for posting here.

From your description, I understand the issue is that you need input
credential again when accessing companyweb from the RWW site. If I am off
base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

First please let me know where does user access the RWW site and companyweb
site from? From internal computers or internet computers?

If the issue happens from internet computers, it is expected behavior.
Since as you known, the companweb site requires Windows Integrated
Authentication. The Remote web work place use a framework embedded with
other website on SBS server. This design helps you to manage the different
site information at same IE windows. However, the main framework (RWW) use
Form based authentication to store user credential information which cannot
be transfer to its sub-framework (Performance and information site) which
use Windows integrated authentication.

The limitation of credential information transferring between framework
helps to increase the network security. For example, the users input the
user information in the main windows of IE. The information will not be
hacked by the sub-framework which may be hidden as script. This is also why
we limit the Cookie usage in the IE.

Just for your info:

There is a method that you can allow anonymous user to access the company
web with no credential input. However, please note that once you do so,
companyweb will use anonymous authentication and anyone who knows the site
name can access the site. The info and the steps below are just for your
info, it will cause security issue, we do not suggest that you do so.

For detailed steps, please refer to following article:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=b51dcb25-0c63-4561-
b981-9a3c860b9f15&displaylang=en

Go to 'Step 7a. Enabling Anonymous User Access to the SharePoint Site'. It
will configure anonymous access.

Hope above information helps. Please let me know if you have further
question on the issue. I am happy to be of assistance to you.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

when users log into RWW they receive another password prompt whenever
they're
trying to enter the companyweb site, how can I make this seemless? Under
the
Authentication and Access Control for the companyweb IIS service it has
integrated Windows Access checked off.

When they entered their password for the prompt it works fine.

Thanks,
Jay
