Yup, I wrote the book on it. :)

As with most books these days, you start writing during the early days of
the beta process. In this case, I started in January, working on areas of
the book that I didn't expect the software to change much, if any, since I
knew that I wanted to go through the entire book. We re-wrote everything,
and Susan Bradley read every single line, bless her, making suggestions for
changes that were invaluable.

As the software matured, we wrote about the new parts that had changed since
the original RTM, since we based the book on a minimum of SP1. And as later
builds became available, we re-checked for any changes that would effect
material already written, while finally being able to write about the new
material as it became available and integrated. Mitch Tulloch - another
Server MVP - was the Tech Editor, and he is meticulous, checking me at every
step.

By the time we finished the book, the software was also finished and we were
able to confirm and/or tweak to address any late changes. But it took less
time for the actual printing than it appears to be taking for the software
to hit the shelves.

Wait didn't you write the book on it?
(Writing a book without seeing the product that's cool)

I'm confused?

I wish I could, Russ. I'm in the same boat as everyone else - I've got a
new server I'm building right now that won't have it because I can't get
the final bits. The server is on SA, so I'll get them eventually, but it
would be nice to have them now.

I pre ordered this book about a month ago from Amazon . It seemed to
ship
early and it showed up today.
Too bad there is no SBS 2003 R2 out to put the reference into use.
