Re: Email issues with hosting

Hi Dave,

I would like to confirm if the mobile' mailboxes on Internet mail server.
If so, the behavior you encountered is expected. As the remote users have
the same SMTP domain name as the local Exchange server, when you try to
send messages to these remote users, Exchange will query the user in local.
Thus, the error message is returned.

For this issue, I would suggest you to try the followings steps first.

1. Start Exchange System Manager.
2. Browse to Organization\Recipients\Recipient Policies.
3. Right-click Default Policy, and then click Properties.
4. Select @ LS.local and click set as primary button
5. Click "@leon.com ", and then click Edit.
6. Verify that the This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail
delivery to this address check box has been cleared.
7. Click OK
8. Select "@leon.com " and click set as Primary button

Please wait for several minutes for the synchronization and test your issue
again.

If the problem could not be resolved, I suggest you configure your Exchange
server to forward unresolved messages to the the Internet mailserver which
hosts the remote uers'mailboxes. To do so, refer to the following steps:

1. Open the properties on the default SMTP virtual server.
2. Click the Messages tab.
3. In the Forward all messages with unresolved recipients to host box, type
the FQDN or the IP address, in square brackets ([]), of the server that
will receive unresolved mail.
4. Click OK.
5. Repeat this procedure for the default SMTP virtual server on all
Exchange servers except for any virtual server that is acting as an inbound
gateway for the other system. Microsoft recommends that no mailboxes reside
on this server.

Note that this setting only affects authoritative domains. So make sure
that the local Exchange server is authoritative for the domain
"mydomain.com".

Exchange

That Shares the Same SMTP Domain Name Space

Hope this helps! If you have other concerns, just post back in the
newsgroup. Thanks and have a nice day!
