Hi Lincoln,
Thanks for your update.
For Event 9097, based on my research, this can occur as a result of
corruption in the repository for the Windows Management Instrumentation
(WMI) server.
Firstly, please use your anti-virus software to detect and remove the
virus. Contact the AV software vendor for assistance, in needed.
Then, try rebuilding the WMI Repository using the following steps:
1. Stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service (WinMgmt), and set
it to disabled to stop it from starting again
2. Back up and then delete all files in the WMI Repository folder at
%systemroot%\System32\WBEM\Repository
3. Re-enable and then start the Windows Management Instrumentation service
After you rebuild the repository, enable and start the "Collect Server
Perfomance Data" task and see if the issue occurs. If the CPU usage spike
continues to occur after rebuilding the repository, disable the WMI
service, rename the Repository folder, and then remove and reinstall the
SBS Monitoring and Reporting using the following steps:
1. Stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service, and set it to
disabled to stop it from starting again
2. Delete all files in the WMI Repository folder at
%systemroot%\System32\WBEM\Repository
3. In Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs
4. Select Windows Small Business Server 2003, and click Change/Remove
5. Click Next until you get to the Component Selection Screen
6. Change Server Tools to Maintenance, change Monitoring component to
Remove, and then click Next to complete setup
7. In Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Health Monitor 2.1, and click
Change/Remove
8. Uninstall Health Monitor
9. From Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs
10. Select Windows Small Business Server 2003, and click Change/Remove
11. Click Next until till you get to the Component Selection Screen
12. Change Server Tools to Maintenance, change Monitoring component to
Install, and then click Next to complete setup
13. In Server Management\Monitoring and Reporting, click Set Up Monitoring
Reports and Alerts to configure monitoring. Then Check if the issue still
persists.
I hope the above information helps.
Have a good day.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
