Thanks to both Dave and Crini. I've figured it out. When I could not access
via browser after resetting it back to factory defaults I checked the config
page and saw that the IP had been assigned via DHCP. So it looks like the
shutdown and power back on somehow turned DHCP on the printer and the IP
assigned had changed. Thanks again.

We had a scheduled power outage in our building. Everything was shutdown
and of course powered off. When power returned everything was turned back
on. All servers, workstations, faxes and other printers work fine. This
one shared printer (HPLJ 2420) on the SBS 2003 server does not seem to
want to print. I cannot ping the TCPIP port nor can I access it through my
browser. Strange thing is that I can delete the printer and re-add it
using \\servername\sharename. When I send a print job to it it hangs then
finally errors with "printing-error" and all I can do is delete the print
job.
I'm going to hook it up directly to a laptop using a usb cable and see
what happens. I've also changed to ethernet connection and used a working
one from a printer I know is working. Same results. Any ideas or clues are
appreciated. Thanks.
