Re: Managing Printers with GPO

Hi Steven
Thanks for the help. I don't really need the old printers to be
deleted from the server. I can easily do that my self.
I would like to keep the server / active directory as a master copy of
all shared printers. I don't mind carrying out any commands on it to
keep the printer position up to date.
My issue is with pc clients. I cant run around so easily ensuring they
reflect the servers printer stock. When i add a printer i have no
issue. However when i delete a printer the same is not true.
Is there a simple solution. In GPO i noticed there are many printer
options to reflect the AD but haven't played with them as yet?
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy,
Thanks for posting here.
From your post, I understand that you want to know how to automatically
delete printer via GPO on the server when the printer delete or remove in
Active directory. If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.
Unfortunately, based on my knowledge, I am afraid it is not possible to
implement your request. I spent several hours for further research
regarding your request; I don't find any settings in Group Policy can
automatically delete the printer on the server. So I believe you will need
coding in this case.
Please post you questions in the Developer newsgroups since this newsgroup
