you don't have them both on the same IP subnet do you? Nic 1 192.168.0.10 Nic 2 192.168.0.20

Both NICs show up there as being OK. They are of the same Realtek
RTL8139 Family NICs that I have used for years. The driver is supplied
by Microsoft. Obviously, I can't use it to look for an update on the
internet. I wonder if I switch the cables and addressing it will work?
I think I will wait till the morning to try that.

It is whatever is on the March 2004 SBS2003 DVD from MSDN, Disc 2619.1
I haven't been able to update anything yet.
