Re: /exchange and /remote sites not accessible from outside

in your case it doesn't matter, but in as much as we strongly discourage running public websites on your SBS domain controller.

I actually got it all working by rerunning the Internet and Email Setup wizard, again. I found an MS KB article describing the problem and it suggested to rerun the wizard with a few caveats. I did and not it works.

As for the URL, does it really matter if you use mail.domain.com or www? They will resolve to the same address, in my case. And when they reach the server, the /exchange will get translated to the proper "sub-folder" of the default web site, as defined in IIS.

the url for the exchange and remote is not www.
typically it is servername.domain.com/exchange or mail.domain.com/exchange same thing for remote

Recently installed SBS 2003. Had to be done in slow stages so ISA was not
installed right away. Before installing ISA, I had run the Internet and
Email Setup Wizard and got the Remote Web Workplace and Outlook Web Access
working, where they previously did not. Then I realized I needed to open up
port 1433 for SQL, for our web site, and realized I still needed to install
ISA.

Since installing ISA, and rerunning the Internet and Email Setup wizard, the
/remote (Remote Web Workplace) and /exchange (Outlook Web Access) web sites
return the "403 - forbidden" error. The web
publishing rules for these sites exist and I even had to create one for our
company's web site, which I got working by comparing the existing rules to
the one I created.

These two sites are accessible from the inside using either the internal or
external address, i.e. //servername/exchange or www.website.com/exchange.

Our company's web site is "website"/pmi and it works just fine. But
"website"/exchange or "website"/remote do not.

I figure I missed something or the ISA setup and/or Internet and Email setup
didn't do something properly. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to
check for, as far as permissions, rules or any other settings required to
make this work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob
