How much data needs to be backed up? There are several companies offering
Internet backup solutions. Earlier you said they can access a shared folder
on the SBS server. Is via a vpn? You could install ntbackup on the
workstations and backup to a shared folder on the server. Both of these
solutions will fail (or take a very long time) if there is a lot of data.
The vpn solution could overload the server's Internet connection. You could
purchase each user an external hard drive and schedule daily backups to the
external drive. There are many solutions. The easiest is to teach the users
how to backup their own systems and tell them they are resposible for
anything not in the shared folder.
