Sharepoint is not the only via option if you are using RWW
RWW allows you to connect to a workstation just as if you were sitting there.
Logged into the workstation you then can have mapped drives with security just as Leythos suggests
I admit Sharepoint is not my strongest suit, so I'm going to ping one of the other MVPs and see if they have a thought.

Thank you fro your response on the mapping I will do that for some of the
files, however, many of these files are access via RWW so Sharepoint is the
only real viable option. So I still need to find out how to get the
permissions working in sharepoint.
