I was given the wrong spelling for a users account and now they want
me to correct it. I tried changing the name in AD and it worked but
it did not correct the GAL and I can't find a way to edit the GAL.
You don't edit the GAL. The GAL is a listing of your AD mail-enabled
objects, essentially.
Am I missing somethin or is there a tool? It's the first hame that is
spelled wrong (Lori instead of Lory) but we only use First Initial,
Last Name; but the user doesn't want to leave it so I have to correct
it now.
Thanks, David.
Change the user's account properties - first name, display name, and the
alias. The offline address book will be automatically updated or you can
force it....then the cached mode clients will eventually see the new OAB
(offline address book).
You may also want to modify her Outlook profile (control panel, mail) -
modify the Exchange account properties by letting it resolve to the new
display name.
