Hi April,
Thanks for posting here.
From your post, I understand that you want to know how to reach thefollowing requirements:
1. Groups can't delete folders/files or move them.
2. Groups can't access certain folders within shares.
If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.
Based on my knowledge, please let me know whether the shared folder located
on the NTFS partition, if so, please note there are two layers security
setting for a shared folder: Share permission and NTFS permission. The NTFS
permission is local permission setting. The share permission is used in a
network environment. When you access the shared folder located on the NTFS
partition, the real permission is the intersection of the Share permission
and NTFS permission. So I suggest you checking whether proper permissions
have been granted in both the NTFS permission settings and Share permission
settings.
To modify the NTFP permission,
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click the shared folder.
3. Select Properties in the popup menu.
4. In the popup window, select Security tab.
After that, you can modify the NTFS permission settings.
To modify the Share permission,
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Right-click the shared folder.
3. Select Properties in the popup menu.
4. In the popup window, select Share tab and click Permission button.
Please verify whether you've granted Administrators and the specific group
proper rights in Share Permission settings.
After that, please verify whether the issue has been resolved.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
