I can ping the server from any client computer in the lan, but not
from outside.
This is normal on most networks; most admins block ICMP.
I have disabled the firewall from the services
administrative tools ,but still no success.
If you don't have a good firewall between your network & the Internet, this
is not a good idea, even for a quick test.
This is a real problem
for me because people cannot access my ftp site.
Pinging has nothing to do with this; port forwarding is more the issue. But
you should not allow access to your server via FTP over the Internet. If you
need an FTP server, stick one in a DMZ on a separate box...or see whether
you can get an inexpensive hosting account for it, outside.
It seems like smth
is blocking it. Could it be the router? If yes how do I change the
settings. Please any tips?
It could be your router, but again, pinging is not the issue....more info
about your network would help, as Robert mentioned.
