Re: SBS 2003 R2 has RTM'd

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I always laugh when these enterprise-oriented publications say something
like "typically sold to small businesses with low-end servers." I'll bet
user for user, most of our technology is way ahead of most enterprises.
While I'm sure many SBS'ers run low powered servers in small networks,
plenty of others are running dual core or multi processor boxes with 3 and 4
GB of RAM, hardware SCSI RAID, etc. I've found that small businesses are
the most enthusiastic consumers of technology, and the earliest adopters.

From WindowsIT Pro

"Finally, Microsoft has released Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 to
manufacturing. Typically sold to small businesses with low-end servers,
Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 includes a new "green check of
software health" feature that quickly alerts users when connected client
machines are not up-to-date with security fixes. It also includes an
integrated version of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), support for
75GB Exchange mailboxes (up from 16GB), and the latest versions of
Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft ISA
Server."

Right on time too. Can't wait to get my hands on it, as I've been putting
off my internal move from W2k3 with Merak Mail to SBS 2003 for far too
long.
