Daily I receive an alert email from my server that says "A large number of
messages are pending in the e-mail server send queue" (the whole message
is
below). If I inspect the queue for the server I find that there are
usually
hundreds of emails that are "scheduled" or trying to "retry" to many
oddball
domains. 99.9% of these messages are from the postmaster account so I'm
guessing they are responses to spam, probably a message from my server
back
to them saying the user or account does not exist (or something like
that).
Is there any way to stop my postmaster account from replying to these?
I'm
sure it is slowing down the overall response time of my server and it
occasionally causes good emails to hang there in limbo.
Thanks for any help....Jason
PS....Here's the whole alert email.

A large number of messages are pending in the e-mail server send queue.
Verify that you have Internet connectivity. If you can view Web sites
normally, contact your Internet service provider (ISP) to determine if
there
is a problem with their e-mail server.
You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change
Alert
Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting
taskpad.
