E-Mail Keeps Resending

I have a client site where I recently did a Swing migration from SBS 2000 to
2003. The migration appeared to go fine, but I have a strange issue with one
of the users in the network and a particular e-mail recipient. When the user
(it's the owner of the company, of course) sends a message to a client of
his (as far as I can tell it's only happening with one recipient), she gets
multiple copies of the messages. In one case she received 40 copies of the
same message. When I check the e-mail Queue, I can see that there are
messages waiting to go out to this recipient. It appears the Exchange server
on the SBS server is not receiving an acknowledgement that the message was
received. Anyone have an idea what would be causing this issue and more
importantly, how to fix or troubleshoot it further?
