Re: Enabling Contacts folder as an email address book via a GPO

Vik,

I think this stuff gets stored in each individual users' outlook
configuration file under their profile. This is why when you log onto
another machine that doesn't have your profile all this stuff disappears
unless roaming profiles are enabled.

I would guess that a vbscript is the most likely way to automate this.
Unfortunately I don't have any sample code and have not seen any. Probably
means I haven't looked in the right place yet.

I too would like to automate this process, especially where the contacts
folder is a public folder with widespread access.

Hi,

Thanks for posting here.

From your post, I understand that you want to know how to enable the
Contacts Folder as an email address book through a GPO. If I am off base,
please feel free to let me know.

Unfortunately, based on my knowledge, I don't know whether there are any
entries in the outlk11.adm template file can enable the Contacts Folder as
an email address book. So please post you questions in the Developer
newsgroups since this newsgroup is primarily for break-fix situations. The
issues include custom coding/programming, scripting, design/implementation
type of issues would best be addressed in the Developer newsgroups. I have
provided the link below to access Developer newsgroups. By posting here,
you may get some pointers from others who may have had similar experience
that they can share with you.

I truly understand your concern. I will do my very best to see that your
feedback is routed to the appropriate channel. Thanks for your
understanding and cooperating regarding this. If there is anything
unclear,
feel free to let me know.

Have a nice day.
