Hello Paul,
Thank you for posting back!
I am glad to hear that the information helps and after you uncheck the box
thing is working correctly on your side.
Regarding your complement question, how to disable this setting from domain
level, based on my research and the discussion conclusion with colleagues,
SBS does not have this native feature.
To configure Internet Explorer to open Office files in the appropriate
Office program, we can edit the Windows registry, set the BrowserFlags
DWORD value to 8 (or 9 for Microsoft Excel worksheets) for the appropriate
document type. However, GPO does not have the feature to edit registry
keys. So you need to ask your clients to manually uncheck the box.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience brought up to you. If you have any
further questions or concerns on this issue, please feel free to let me
know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for the information,
I have perfomed the following action on a client computer.
Select the menu option "Tools->Folder Options"
Select the tab "File Types".
In the Registered file types, select DOC and click the button "Advanced"
In the pop up dialog uncheck the option "Browse in same window"
This corrects the issue on that client computer.
Is there any way I can make this change across all of the clients by group
policy etc.. as I would like this to be the standad action and the
all browse in same window
Best Wishes
Paul Bishop
