Hi Mart,
Thanks for your update. I appreciate your efforts to the issue.
I. Let us first check the following settings to trouble shoot the issue:
1. Please open Scheduled Tasks folder (Start -> Control panel -> Scheduled
Tasks), right click the SBS backup task to open its Properties page.
2. Under Settings tab, please ensure do NOT check all options here.
3. Then please restart the backup service and then test the issue again.
What is the result?
II. If the issue persists, let us perform the clean boot respectively on
the SBS server box and on the NAS data center to see it the issue
disappears.
A Clean Boot will allow us to isolate any device drivers or programs that
are loading at startup that may be causing a conflict with other device
drivers or programs that are installed in your computer.
1) Run MSCONFIG.EXE.
2) In the Services tab, click "Hide All Microsoft Services" and click
"Disable All".
3) In the Startup tab, click "Disable All". Click OK. (This will
temporarily prevent third-party programs from running automatically during
start-up.)
4) Restart the computer and check whether the problem still persists.
If the problem does not occur, it indicates that the problem is related to
one application or service we have disabled. You can use the MSCONFIG tool
again to re-enable the disabled item one by one to find out the culprit.
III. If the issue persists, please check the following registry key and
verifying it to see if it helps.
Please open Registry Editor, navigate to the Registry Key "Ntbackup"
located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Ntbackup. What is the value
of the SessTimeout key? Please set the SessTimeout key to 300. Then please
test the issue and let me know the result.
IV. To your solution to workaround the issue, we need program a script to
implement the task automatically. For how to code a script to achieve the
aim, you need post the question in our MSDN newsgroup. The developer
newsgroups are located at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp. They are more
professional than us in this field. Thank you for your understanding.
And also please let me know what the bandwidth of your LAN network is. I
appreciate your time!
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu
