Hi Partner,
Thanks for posting here.
First I would like to explain that if you assign multiple SMTP address to
one mailbox, through all the address can receive message, only the primary
SMTP address will be used to send message. This is by design behavior in
exchange. Technically speaking, when we send messages from outlook,OWA or
OMA via the exchange server, the From Field will be automatically resolved
as your domain Display name. When the message is sent to the internet
recipients, the recipients will find the message came from your "primary"
e-mail address configured in your domain account.
Please perform the following steps to solve this issue:
For instance primary SMTP address for use1 is use1@xxxxxxxxxxxx; SMTP
address for user2 is user2@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
a. Open Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC).
b. Locate the account user2. Right-click it and then click Properties.
c. On the E-mail Addresses tab, click New to add the user2@xxxxxxxxxxxx and
set it as the Primary account.
d. Uncheck the box to prevent it from being updated by recipient policy.
e. Click Ok.
If the issue persists, please add the secondary SMTP address in the
Recipient Policy.
------------------------------------------------------------------- --------
a. Open ESM on your SBS 2003 box.
b. Locate Recipients----Recipient Policy----Default Policy
c. On the E-mail Addresses (Policy) tab, click New button, select SMTP
Address.
d. Then enter @companyb.com. Click OK
e. Select this SMTP address, but do not set as Primary.
f. Click OK.
Hope this helps. I look forward to your update.
Best Regards,
Chace Zhang (MSFT)
