what if you "unhide" the share?

Try net use driveletter: \\computer_name\share_name /u:domain_name\user_name

I have, after doing more research, discovered this is a common problem to do
with the way a 2003 DC authenticates clients.
Supposedly settings have to be changed under Domain controller security
policy.
I would just rather get some info from the experts before proceeding.
