RE: DFS

Helo,

Thank for the quick response.
So it means that the new update in DFS is not yet with SP1 and I need to
install first R2 to have this ?

Hi,

Thanks for taking time to respond.

Based on my research, to enable all features in DFS Namespaces, you must
configure lab servers and clients as follows:

1. Servers where namespace management tasks are performed must run Windows
Server 2003 SP1 and Windows Server 2003 R2.
2. To take advantage of new namespace features, all servers that host
namespaces must run Windows Server 2003 SP1.
3. To take advantage of new namespace features, all domain controllers must
run Windows Server 2003 with SP1.
4. Namespaces must be created on NTFS volumes.
5. Clients that access namespaces can run any of the supported client
operating systems, but only clients running the following operating
systems, service packs, and the appropriate client failback hotfix can be
configured for client failback:
6. Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and the Windows XP Client Failback
hotfix.
7. Windows Server 2003 SP1 and the Windows Server 2003 Client Failback
hotfix. (This hotfix does not yet have a release date.)

I hope that the above information can be of assistance. If anything is
unclear or you have any further concerns, please feel free to let me know.
I am glad to be of assistance.

Have a great day.
