Thanks maxibo.
We have 26 users. there's no possible way of leaving Sharepoint on the old
box?
that's unfortunate.
Is there any service, I can leave on he old server?

Hi.
www.sbsmigration.com is for you...
Sharepoint has to follow to new server as is intergrated into SBS, What you
have to watch.... is original installation an OEM version?
Take the load off?, how many users you have ?
Dell installations, WATCH OUT for the default 12gb C partition this is way
too small.

Hello all.
I am about to take on a very big project, and I need some help to make
sure
I have everything covered or better yet doing the right thing.
Just started this new system admin position with this company running
SBS-03.
The current configuration is a Dell poweredge 1700, 4Gig of RAM, 2 36GIG
HDD
(NO Raid configured).
As most of you know this is a very mission critical box with (Exchange,
DC,
DNS, Sharepoint, IIS, Report services, ISA, SQL), No BDC. :(
A poweredge 2850 (Windows2003 + RAID5) was recently purchased for a Citrix
project which is not going to be implemented.
The plan/project I have proposed is to replace the current domain
controller
with 2850 that has RAID option. I want to know if this is the right thing
to
do, well I think it is. This server is so critical I want to make the
replacement process as smooth as possible, I have been looking for
articles
that covers migration of the FSMO role, Gloabal catalog, etc.
To light the load on the sbs, I wanted to leave sharepoint on the existing
server once it has been demoted, sharepoint is used havilly there I would
to
hate to have to reconfigure it from scratch (good practive). please
advise!
So, I want to make sure i'm doing the right thing! If so, any advice or
links, whitepages or tech docs that covers this type of preject would be
great.
Thanks in advance.
good night.
