Re: Win Mobile 5 + SBS 2003 SP1 + Exchange SP1 Connection woes

Hi thanks for your relpy.

The problem is the same with or without SSL ticked. Also the problem is the
same (and the same error on the sever) if I try and sync via the cradle or
over the air via GPRS/Internet.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Craig.

Also You do have use ssl ticked?

2. On your Smartphone 2003-based device, click Start, ActiveSync, Menu,
Options, Server Settings, Connection and check the box "This server uses an
SSL connection".

Yet another one here with exactly the same probem.

Certificate correctly installed (can go to /remote without a a pop-up) and
can login to /oma and read mails but won't sync. Get the 85010004 error.
Yet
again.

I agree - very frustrating!

Any help please?

Craig.

Robbie, I am having this EXACT same problem. Please tell me what you did
to
fix it. I have scoured the internet looking for a solution. Thanks!

Hi all,
So the certificate copied over just fine and has been installed on both
devices as a trusted root certificate. The first time I went to install
the
root certificate It wasn't exported as a DER .cer file so it didn't
work and
I got the same error that Betsy had but the FQDN is installed as
trusted root
certificate on the phones (not the local domain name of
servername.domainname.office (instead of.local coz the macs have issues
with
that).

If the problem was a certificate issue, then i'd expect not using ssl
to
cure that, instead i get an error that tells me that my exchange
account is
not configured with the correct permissions, however when i check user
account in sbs, i have the full mobile user template privs and all of
the
mobile devices functionas are enabled....

any ideas ?

I have a similar problem. I am running SBS2003 with EXCHANGE SP2 - My
phone device is running Windows Mobile 5.0 OS 5.1.1700 (Build
14354.0.1.1).

The directions for install state that I can use the cert from the
server and not have to purchase a cert. It also states to just copy
and
paste the cert from the server to the device, open the device, and
click on the cert to install. This DID NOT WORK. The device states
"Cannot access certificate". The work around for me was not to send
mail via SSL until a solutions was found.

Sorry for the *** in but thought I might ask while the items were
similar.

Cheers, -KEHF
