Hi Chris,
Thanks for your update.
From your description, I understand the issue to be: you failed to connectto the server or client workstations in LAN through RWW site or remote
desktop connection.
Let us first re-run CEICW to refresh the network connection and then test
to see if it helps. You can refer to the following steps:
1. Expand Standard Management | To Do List.
2. Click Connect to the Internet in the right pane.
3. Navigate the wizard to Firewall and then select Enable firewall. In the
next page, check items (such as Terminal services) you want to publish
internet in services configuration page.
4. Click Next and then select Allow access to the following web site
services from the internet.
5. Make sure "Remote Web Workspace" and "OWA" be selected and click Next.
6. Following the wizard to finish it.
I suggest you take a look at the KB 825763 to configure the network
connection:
825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
If you have installed router or hardware firewall outside the SBS 2003
network, please double check to make sure the TCP port 80, 443, 444, 4125,
3389 is opened on your router or hardware firewall.
Then please test to see if the issue resolved.
Also please check the RWW site settings:
1. Open IIS snap-in.
2. Go to Default Web Site/Remote.
3. Right click Remote and click Properties.
4. Click Directory Security tab.
5. Click Edit under "Authentication and access control".
6. Make sure that the "Enable anonymous access" and "Integrated Windows
Authentication" have been checked.
7. Click Edit under "IP address and domain name restriction".
8. Make sure that "Granted access" has been selected.
9. Click Edit under "Secure communications".
10. Make sure that "Require secure channel (SSL)" is not selected.
For RWW, please also check the following settings:
1. Open ADU&C.
2. Go to Domain.local/MyBusiness/Users/SBSUsers.
3. In the right pane, right click the problematic user and click Properties.
4. Click Member Of tab.
5. Make sure that the "Remote Web Workplace Users" group is in the list.
If the issue persists, please help me collect the following information to
isolate the issue:
1. What is the exact error message you received when you try to connect to
the server or client workstation in LAN through RWW site? Please help me
collect a screen shot of the error message.
2. What is the exact error message you received when you directly RDP from
internet to the LAN computers? Please help me collect a screen shot of the
error message.
3. Please directly connect a laptop to the SBS external network adapter to
test, what is the result? If you have router installed outside the network,
please try to connect the laptop to the router to test, what is the result?
In this way, we can isolate if the issue locates on the SBS side or
internet computer side. Also you can try to logon the RWW site from
different internet places to test the issue.
4. Please help me collect the IIS log as follows:
1). Stop the Default Website and rename the existing IIS log files under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles (In this way, we can get the latest log file
regarding to the issue).
2). Restart the Default Website and try to logon OMA and Server Activesync
to reproduce the problem.
3). Wait about 15 minutes, then go to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles and send them to me.
Note: please let me know your SBS server IP address, the IP address of the
internet computer.
Please compress all files and send to my working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu

Hi, Yesterday I was able to connect to my server through RDC without any
problems.
Today I get the message that the computer is not responding... could be
problems with your network etc etc.
Hi, sorry, I hit return before I had typed anything!
My problem is this -> RWW and RDC work fine internally, RWW works remotely
(over the internet) OWA is fine through this but when I try to connect to
server or any desktops I get the message that it is not possible toconnect.
It worked fine on Monday so I can only assume I have changed a settingaccess
somewhere and not realised it.
When using RDC independantly of RWW I get the error that it cannot connect
to the remote computer, the computer may be busy or not set up to accept
connections. I know this not to be true as I have used it earlier in the
week.
What has changed?
I eagerly await your response!
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.
What is your concern? I can not find your post main content, could you
describe me more detail about your problem?
In SBS environment, we have several methods to make users remotely
whichinternal resources in SBS network. That is RWW site, VPN and RDP.
===================
I. The easier method is that through RWW (Remote Web Workspace) site to
connect to internal computers and access the Companyweb site.
The SBS RWW is a dynamically created web site that provides a single,
simple, and consolidated entry point for remote users to access SBS
features. It empowers external SBS users by providing one place from
toall relevant features of SBS, such as Outlook Web Access, Windows
SharePoint Services, and the remote user desktop, can be accessed from
outside the network firewall. To access RWW, one can access
http://fully_qualified_domain_name/remote remotely, or
http://servername/remote locally.
Connecting through RWW allows users to connect to the server resources
without additional configuration such as VPN or RAS. It also allows VAPs
purposes.connect directly to the internal workstations for troubleshooting
secured,If SSL is deployed along with RWW, you ensure the communication is
easilyand all data is encrypted and protected over the web.
===================
II. Using RRAS wizard (Server Management console -> Configuration E-mail
and Internet Connection Wizard -> Configure Remote Access), we can
insetup VPN server and when remote users VPN to the SBS network, they can
work as internal computers and access resources with appropriate access
permissions.

III. We can also publish terminal services to internet and use RDP
openapplication to connect to internal computers. However it is insecure to
open port 3389 to internet, it is not recommended that we permanently
