Have you checked domain security policy?
User Rights Assignments.> Access this computer from the network. by default is set to not defined...meaning no restrictions. There is also a "Deny Access to this computer from the network" also set to not defined
You may also want to check security options in the same domain security policy and see if any restrictions exist?

I have a client running SBS 2003. Users are suddenly unable to logon to the
domain when they are in a security group. If I create a new user and do not
add them to any groups beyond the defaults that MS assigns, they can login
with no problem. However if I add them to any security groups they cannot
login, after about 10 minutes of saying "applying personal settings" it logs
on localy with cached credentials. I even created a new security group to
see if my existing groups had become corupt, same results. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
