Hi,
When something is disabled (dimmed) usually means the some group policy is
applied. To see which policy is applied run the mmc console and add
Resultant Set of Policy or run gpresult from cmd (I prefer the first one).
There is also a registry setting for folder redirection. Check the following
registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
Gpupdate probably did not help because the local policy is applied last.
What happens if some other logs on to this machine?

I had a call from a user on a SBS network this morning to say he couldn't
see his documents in My Documents.
When I login using his profile and right-click his My Documents folder it
is showing as being directed to c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My
Documents This can't be edited.
All other users are being directed to the shared users folder My Documents
redirect as set in the server. This user is a member of the same groups as
the others. Nothing as far as I am aware has been changed on the server or
the client.
I've tried gpupdate but that makes no difference.
