Hi Guillermo,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
From your description, I understand you receive "the page cannot bedisplayed" errors in "backup" pages of the Server Management Console and
SharePoint and Exchange can not work normally after the server crashes. If
I have misunderstood your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Please rerun CEICW to see how thing goes. It will configure settings for
your network, firewall, secure Web site, and e-mail services that are used
when connecting the local network to the Internet. If it does not help,
please check the following steps:
For Exchange issue, do you have the Site Server ILS Service service
installed on the SBS server? Actually this service cannot be running on a
computer with Exchange installed. For more information, please take a look
at the following articles:

Exchange

Event

For Backup components, please check if the resolution in the following
Knowledge Base article helps:
842693 You receive a "HTTP 400 - Bad Request" error message when you try to
use the Monitoring and Reporting snap-in or the Backup snap-in on a Windows
Small Business Server 2003-based computer
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=842693
If it does not work, regarding the backup snap-in in the SBS 2k3 server
management fails to work, it may be caused by the following:
1. The task "Back Up Small Business Server" is deleted manually from
Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks. We may solve it from the following:
If you do not want SBS to backup the server, please re-run Backup
Configuration Wizard (Server Management -> Backup -> Configure Backup) and
select "Do not use Small Business Server backup". If you want the backup,
then select "Change existing backup settings" to let the wizard to
recreate the task.
2. The service running the backup was set to a user account instead of
System. The website ran as Network Service. Network Service and the user
account had different date/international format settings. To resolve this
issue we set the backup job to run as System which had the same date format
as the Network Service. Additionally, the dates contained in the Backup
Results.xml needed to be changed to match the date format of the Network
Service, which was the US format.
Steps to check the service account:
1) Click Start, point to Control Panel, point to Scheduled Tasks.
2) Under the lists of Tasks, right click "Back Up Small Business Server"
and select Properties
3) On the Task tab, verify the "Run As" option specifies NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM

|
| A fes days ago we had a sever crash and it refused to boot, stating that
a
| file in the Windows\System32 directory was corrupted or missing.
|
| I was able to boot the server usign ERD Commander and repair the
registry.
| The server booted up just fine, but a warning message said the a services
| couldn't start up.
|
| Now I can see that several component are not working properly. Most
| important is Exchange Server. There is no message relay, the users cand
send
| emails but the never reach their destination within the corporate network.
|
| Another thing not working is the SharePoint website. Several parts of
the
| Server Management console are throwing errors too, such as the Backup
section
| and so on. An ''The page cannot be displayed'' error shows up, and
there's
| pretty much nothing I can do.
|
| I'm suspecting that the same service responsible for braking Exchange is
the
| same that's causing everything else not to work.
|
| What would you recommend?
