Thanks Cjobes, It works now.

what i did was i went to management console on my laptop -> local users and
groups, then from the list, there are user accounts there (But i could not
find the one you said see account names for local logon). I could see my name
there and it's a member of administrator so i just reset the password and
noticed that it has a different username from the one used to access to SBS.
Then, it logged me in when i chose log on to smith(this computer).

Thanks for your help.

When a computer is a member of a domain you have two ways to log on: the
Domain (your SBS Domain) and Locally (your computer). The usernames and
passwords are different (unless you used the same combination when you set
it up) and have different SIDs. It is very important to keep track of the
local administrator username and password for troubleshooting. But your main
concern that you need to take the computer home to work on isn't a problem.
Your computer caches your Domain username and password. So if you are not
connected to the server you still can log in with your Domain username and
password.

If you are a member of the domain administrators, you can log on to the
laptop under your domain credentials, go to the management console, expend
"local users and groups" and see the account names for the local logon. You
can right-click on any of the local accounts and reset the password.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help me.

I have recently bought SBS 2003 and have tested it with one of my laptop
and
i could access to the server with no problem at this present time. I have
a
small network here. Every PC including SBS server is connected to a router
that supports VPN. I tried to keep my network the same and just by
changing
from the workgroup to domain. I need some help here. I'm still learning
here.
You know when you start your laptop and before logon to the server, you
need
to put in your username and password and choices to log on to which. From
there, i can see there is eg. Jimmy(computer) and the other one is
mySBSserver. I could log into windows if logged on to the server. But i
can't
log on if i choose Jimmy(computer) which's my own computer. The reason i
am
doing this because sometimes there is a need to take my computer home and
work at home, not having to connect to the server. Could anyone tell me
how
to get around this problem?

Thank you very much in advance
