Hi Leon
If the 2000 server is a Domain contoller see SBSMigration.com for the
easiest solution. If the server is in Workgroup mode with few Workstations
then do a fresh Install of your server preferably with 2 NICs setup like
http://www.smallbizserver.net/tabid/266/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/76/Two-Nics-a-static-IP-address-ISA-router.aspx
and run the todo list from Server Management after Install setting up Users,
Computers, and the 2000 Server as Member server. Then connect the Computers
and 2000 server to the LAN switch and join them to the Domain using the
Http://sbservername/connectcomputer Wizard.
If you have never setup SBS before the conventional wisdom is to set it up
three times off line to get familiar with and get it right before putting it
on line.

As soon as it arrives,we are going to install a new SBS2003 server in
place of a Win2000 server. The way we intend to do this is to completely
disconnect the old server from the network, then install the new server
After that, we want to copy all the data files from the old server over to
the SBS2003 server, and use the Win 2000 server box strictly for data
files backup. Since I haven't connected a second server to a network
before, are there any issues I need to watch for?
Thanks. Leon
