The Action Pack CALs can be either User or Device (your choice). Within.
SBS, there's no way to track which type (or combination of types) was
selected by the previous admin. It's a paperwork tracking thing. Your
supposed to write down on the EULA, or some other piece of paper, which type
you choose and which device or user each CAL is assigned to. If this was
never done, I suspect yuo should make your CAL type selections/assignments
now and write it down.
Action pack cals. user or device

Action Pack comes with the 5 CALs that are included with SBS 2003 plus an
additional 5 CALs (which you apparently have the paperwork for). What's
never been clear to me is whether the MAP license agreement let's you
"legally" buy and use more than the 10 CALs that come with Action Pack.
Maybe someone else can address this.
Where do you purchase additional SBS CAL's

You are correct and we are continuing paying for the MAP. However, I need
more CAL and I dunno how did the previous IT setup the cal as per device
or
per user. I can't tell if those call from the MAP is either per device or
per
user.

This sounds like it may be CALS that were shipped with the MAP (Microsoft
Action Pack). If so, it's valid for 10 licenses as long as you continue
to
pay the MAP yearly subscription fee. Can you confirm that you have SBS
2003
from the MAP installed on the server?

part number is X09-76961. On the other2 SBS CAL paper, they have the
same
part number. I try to google that part number but nothing came up.

You'll need to go back to the original license paperwork (or email)
that
the
client received and see what it says, or maybe identify the MS part
number
for the CALs from an invoice. There's no way that I know of with SBS
to
identify the type of CALs (especially since Software Assurance let's
you
do
a one-time switch between User and Device CALs). License tracking is
all
done manually (write it down) with SBS.

I added several client machine to the domain and the licensing
already
exceed
the limitation. This is the first time I've to buy CALs and I dunno
which
one
to buy . However, I dunno how the previous IT setup the SBS 2003
CALs.
