Hi Maxime,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.
Can I confirm with you that you want to know how to configure fax
notifications when faxes are received even there is not Exchange server
installed? If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.
If there is no Exchange server installed and we still need configure fax
notification, we can use Messenger service to send notification. We need
configure as follows:
1. Open Server Management console, locate the Fax (Local) node.
2. Right click it to open its Properties page, under Receipts tab, ensure
the option "Enable message boxes as receipts" is checked.
3. Restart the "Fax" service to take effect the changes.
4. Please ensure the Messenger service is running on both the SBS server
and all the client computers. You can refer to below steps to check:
1). On both the SBS server and the client computers that cannot receive the
notification, click Start->Run, type "services.msc" (without the quotes)
and click OK.
2). Double click the Messenger service to bring up its properties page.
Change its Startup type to "Automatic".
5. Please ensure that the SBS server''s internal network adapter and the
clients'' network adapters are enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP. To check this,
perform the following steps:
1). Right click My Network Places and choose Properties.
2). Right click your local area connection and choose Properties.
3). Highlight "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click Properties.
4). Click the Advanced button and then click the WINS tab.
5). Make sure "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is slected.
Then you can receive fax notification.
Hope above information helps! I am happy to be of assistance to you and
look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu
