Hello Brain,
Thank you for posting back!
I am sorry for the delayed response due to the weekend. Please understand
that the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals
to answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!
Since Steven is taking leave these days, I am his backup for this issue and
my name is Brandy.
I have reviewed the whole thread, and I understand that you encounter Event
ID 1000 and Event ID 4 on SQL Server and SBS Server, respectively.
In order to perform further research, I need your help to gather Event Logs
on both Servers:
a. On the Servers, run "eventvwr" (without quotation marks).
b. Right click Application, and select Save Log File As.
c. Please save as .evt file.
By the way, on these two Servers, open a command window, type "ipconfig
/all > C:\ip.txt" (without quotation marks), go to C drive and get the
ip.txt.
Please send the log files to pngfd@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the following info:

DNS log is empty?
The problem is still:
New users created in sbs2003 still have no rights to the SQL server.
DPM can not even attach to SQL.
SQL has no DNS name.
