New to SBS - What kind of Profiles?

Hello,

I work for a small company - years ago we got an NT domain controller
and started to have domain users and computers and so on. the basics.
Since then we've made upgrads to Win2k and Win2k3, but while any domain
user can log into any domain computer every time a user logs in to a
new machine, they get a local profile, with a local documents folder,
and local settings.

I'd like to set things up so that no matter what machine a user is
logged in to, they use a network based documents folder... and have
their drive mappings transfer and their Exchange profile automatically
in place.

I've gone slowly with learning about AD and users, and my bosses signed
me up for and paid for me to get my MCSE recently... but then threw the
need for upgrades at me and gave me a due date which is WELL before I'm
going to learn where to start. The upgrades are based on a move, a new
network and new AD, and SBS servers.

I know there are 'hardware profiles' and 'local profiles' and 'roaming
profiles' and 'network profiles'... but I'm getting lost in them and
would like to create a standard set for my users - and one that would
be a default which new users would start with.

I hope my desire to learn isn't going to draw any flames here, if my
idea of a profile that will move a users' folder/drive/exchange
settings from machine to machine is impossible, I'd love suggestions as
well. I've played with the idea, and moved one of my users profiles to
a server and set that in her AD user settings... the next time she
logged in, it took her FOREVER, and everything she saved was local. I
assume this was because I copied her profile from her workstation and
everything was directed to a local drive...

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance folks, looking forward to what
you all suggest.

Thanks,

Richard
