Hi Daye,
Thanks for your update. I appreciate your time to the issue.
Based on my research, there is no such group policy to prevent us from
seeing the "link to Outook" tab. It seems to be that this is a TS server
issue, I suggest that you post the question in our Terminal server
newsgroup for more information. The reason why we recommend posting
appropriately is you will get the most dedicated pool of respondents, and
other partners who the newsgroups regularly can either share their
knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Also, this is to make
sure that the responders can better track the problem Thank you for your
understanding.

Hi,
just update, I have just installed anotehr TS and installed the office
2003. I could see the "Link to Outlook" tab from that server.
Are there some GPO setting on my production TS server that prevented us
from seeing the " link to Outook" tab there ?
Thanks,
Jenny,
Thanks for your update.
Yes, Outlook is installed on the remote desktop server and anyone can
access outlook via remote desktop both locally and from internet. We can
use both mstsc and http://remotedesktopserver/tsweb to access RD server and
outlook and there is no link to outlook tab on the event.
Thanks,
Daye

Hi Daye,
Thanks for your update.
Please let me know where the users RDP to Windows TS. From internet or
internal LAN? And how users RDP to the terminal server? Through Remote
desktop client or RWW site?
To isolate the issue, let us perform the following tests:
1. Please ensure the Outlook 2003 is installed for the user. You can logon
the TS locally with the user account to ensure the Outlook 2003 is
installed and configured properly for the user account. And go to the
Companyweb site to check if you can view the option "Link to Outlook".
2. Then logon one workstation in LAN and RDP to the TS with the user
account using command "mstsc" (no quotation marks) to launch a RDP session.
3. Then please check if the button "Link to Outlook" disappears.

Hi,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.
From your description, I understand the issue to be: on remote desktops'system the "Link to Outlook" button is missing. If I have misunderstood
your concern, please let me know.
Based on my research, the "Link to Outlook" button takes advantage of
Stssync control to perform the synchronization between WSS event list and
Outlook 2003. The Stssync control is defined in the OWSSUPP.DLL file,
is installed from Office 2003 installation. By default, this .dll is
installed in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11
In the problematic box which the "Link to Outlook" button isn't shown,
correspondingcan check whether the control .dll file is installed there. If not, youcan
run the Office 2003 installation again, in the customization tree viewthis
window of Office installation, please install:
Office tools-->Windows Sharepoint Service Support
After that, the control will be installed into your box.
Also, please check the following registry:
1. Start Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following registry key:
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\11\Outlook\Preferences\
3. Can you see a registry key named "DisableSTS"? If so, please delete
key and restart the computer to see the result.
Hope above information helps! I am happy to be of assistance to you and
look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu
