Re: Unable to add client to domain

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi - I'm new to this, but got this problem last week and these kind people sorted the problem out for me. Assuming it's XP then

The connectcomputer procedure creates a file called sbsnetsetup.log in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Clients (usually there) - that lists the folders causing the problems. In my case it was a temp folder that was empty so I just deleted it.

I have a new laptop I have been trying to add to our domain, however, using http://computername/connectcomputer I get to the migrate user profile part but get an error message that says, " The following user settings are private. Client Setup cannot migrate private user settings".

I have checked the user profile in documents and settings and none of the folders are set as private. What else do I need to look at?
