RE: SBS 2003 Shared Fax major problem

I understand that you encounter fax sending issue on the SBS 2K3 Server. if
I have misunderstood your issue, please let me know.

In order to supplement your description, I need your help to gather the
following information:

1. What is your fax modem exact brand and model, please? Please make sure
that you have installed the latest drive and updates for your fax modem.

2. When did the issue occur? Since you did not encounter this issue before,
did you make any change on the SBS Server recently? For example, install
any updates or software?

3. Does this issue occur to one particular recipient or certain?

4. On the server, run "eventvwr" (without quotation marks), check whether
there are any errors. If yes, double click it, click the Copy button and
paste the full content to the Newsgroup.

5. Please help me to gather the Fax Activity log. You can send this log to
my mailbox. To do so:

a. Go to Server Management\Standard Management\Fax (Local).
b. Right click Fax (Local), and select Properties. Activity Logging tab.
c. Make sure that you have ticked the box: Log outgoing fax activity. You
will see the Activity log folder location underneath. By default, it
locates at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax\ActivityLog.

6. Please explain in detailed "same fax retransmitted dozens of times in a
row". I suggest that you capture a screen shot for it so we can have a
clearer image of the issue.

Hi,

We have a client with SBS 2003 Premium using shared fax service to only
send faxes. It was working fine for a few months and just recently
started acting up.

The use the shared fax printer on the client PCs to send the default
coverpage, plus the document. The fax recipients claim that they are
only getting the coverpage, and many of them are getting the same fax
retransmitted dozens of times in a row.

Rebooting the server and clients doesn't help. Reinstalling the shared
fax printer/client doesn't help.

This happens on all the clients in the office.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
