Re: transition pak contents

The Transition Pack converts you to Windows 2003 Standard Edition (and
includes the media to do so.) It removes the restrictions and allows you to
become part of a multi-domain forest, move your Exchange off to another
server, and have more than 75 users. Etc. Once you have transitioned, you
have the right to run your copy of Exchange on a different server. Your CALs
are good as well.

nope, dont think its OEM.

We were sold seperate licenses for Exchange 2003, Server 2003 etc by a
reseller before we were aware that the transition pak existed despite them
being aware of our situation. We now have the hardware, software and cals
for a new server and exchange, but having difficulty planning a migration
from SBS to 2003 standard

I was curious as to what was on the CD maybe a call to microsoft
licensing.

Unless you are able to suggest an alternative method of migration.

Hi,

Just wondering what software comes on the SBS Standard Transition Pak
Media Kit. Is it simply the full product versions of the W2K3 Server
and Exchange.

Planning to transition and already have most media kits. Just wondering
whether you need to purchase the transition media kit as an extra or
simply the CAL's

The Transition pack is a single CD (based on what I've been told by MS
Sales) that runs a special app that removes the restrictions imposed by
SBS, it does not contain the Server 2003 Media or any other media. You
also need to purchase CAL's based on how many SBS Cals you already have.

If your version of SBS is an OEM version and you were planning on moving
to any other server/motherboard, you can not do it.
