Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.
From your description, I understand the issue to be: when users try tocreate a Contacts List, he received "Access denied" error message. If I am
off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Let us perform the following steps to trouble shoot the issue:
1. Please logon the SBS server box, open Companyweb site, navigate to Site
Settings-->Manager Users, can you see the user act as an Administrator for
WSS site? If not, please let the user join the Administrator site group.
2. navigate to Site Settings--> Go to Site Administration' Manage Site
Groups, Click the Administrator group to check if the user listed here and
also click Edit Site Group Permissions menu to ensure the Administrator
group has full permissions for the WSS site.
3. Then please test to create a Contacts list, what is the result?
If the issue persists, please create a new group and grant Full List Rights
and Personal Rights and then add a user to the group to test the issue,
what is the result?
If the issue persists, please help me collect some information to isolate
the issue:
1. Please help me collect a screen shot off the error message when user try
to create contacts list and send to me for analyze.
2. Please try to use an administrator account to create other type document
list, what is the result?
3. Please create a new user account with Add user wizard with domain admin
permissions, add it to the Administrator group of the WSS site, then please
test the issue again, what is the result?
4. Please enable IIS logging and reproduced the issue and collect IIS log
for analyze.
To enable IIS log:
a. Open IIS MMC, right click Default Web Site and then click Properties.
b. Click Website tab and then check Enable logging.
c. Stop the Default Website and rename the existing IIS log files under
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles.
d. Restart the Default Website and try to reproduce the problem.
e. Wait about 15 minutes, then go to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles and send them to me.
Note: please let me know your SBS server IP address.
Please compress all files and send to my working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time. I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
forward to your reply.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu

Hi
We have an sbs server which we set up six months ago, and configured
companyweb
without any problems. However now we want to add a new contact list and
when we try to add it we get a log in box. Every possible username and
password
fails and we get the access denied message. I have set the users to
administrator,
reset the owner of the site and everything else I can think of but to no
avail.
Trying to add from the server as the server administrator also fails.
We are at a loss, as before this we had changed nothing.
I would be grateful for some assistance.
thanks
jc
