Yes - in step 2 on the blog, there's a link to instructions for the exact
commands you run.

Thanks, Dave. Seems pretty simple. To list the steps: Use CD2 of Windows
2003 Server R2 and run adprep on my SBS 2003 SP1 box. Next, install the
new
R2 server as the backup AD server.
For Exchange 2003 schema, I guess I'll simply run the forest prep to the
new
R2 backup AD server using an Exchange 2003 SP2 CD, correct?

You can do this with no problem. You have to run adprep from the R2 CD
on
the SBS before promoting the WS03 R2 box to a DC. Just go to
http://blogs.technet.com/sbs/archive/2006/02/28/420825.aspx and see the
instructions for this near the bottom of the post. It's a simple
procedure,
and the key is to use the version of adprep from the R2 CD, not the other
WS03 CDs.

I'm running SBS 2003 Premium w/SP1. I'm in the process of setting up a
new
Dell PE1850 server that's running Windows 2003 Server R2. I would like
to
add this server to the SBS domain as a backup AD server. Are there any
limitations to using the new R2 server with SBS 2003 server, which is
not
R2?
I'll also install the Exchange 2003 extensions on this new server. All
of
this is simply for disaster recovery options down the line.
Thanks.
Ken
