Re: Cannot delete/empty "Deleted items"

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

That first message sounds like cached Exchange mode, and it won't let you do
anything with the Deleted Items folder until it's finished synchronizing.
However, the fact that it's been days sounds like it certainly should have
synched by now. You can just view the Deleted Items in Outlook to see if
the status bar at the lower right says "All folders are up to date."

I would do the following in order until one works: in Outlook, click
Tools -> Empty Deleted Items Folder. Failing that, Tools -> Options ->
Other and click "Empty the Deleted Items folder upon exiting." Close
Outlook and see what happens. Failing that, try going out of cached mode
and emptying the folder. Or, if you can successfully view the folder when
out of cached mode, try deleting maybe 100-200 items at a time. I know that
when I select a large number of items to delete - say 1500 or so - I
invariably get some kind of error.

Hello.

I imported a bunch emails saved in a folder as a.pst when we were still
SBS2000. Now that we are on SBS2003 Premium, i imorted the saved.pst
file,
my Administrator exceeded it's size limit and Exchange closed the mailbox.

I decided to import the old emails(saved in the .pst file) into a personal
folder as suggested by the exchange mailbox closed email. After doing
that,
i deleted the emails from the Administrator mailbox that were previously
imported. They are now in the "Deleted items" folder of the Administrator
mailbox. When i attempt to "Empty "Deleted items" folder", i get this
message:

"Outlook has not finished synchronizing local changes made to items in
this
folder. You cannot delete this folder until the synchronization with the
server is complete."

When iattempt to delete individual folders inside the "Deleted items"
folder, iget this message:

"Unable to delete this folder. Right-click the folder, and then click
properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner
or
your administrator to change your permissions. Outlook has not finished
synchronizing local changes made to items in this folder. You cannot
delete
this folder until the synchronization with the server is complete."

It's been days now and i still get the same messages.

Isn't there an easy way to empty the "Deleted items" folder ?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony
