Thanks for both replying so promptly.
This is weird. https://server_name/remote works from a domain side client
and I don't have a fixed IP or the PtrA record or any forwarding from an ISP.
However https://external_ip_address/remote doesn't.

I can't get a screen cap of the router to post but I assure you that the
default DMX server is 10.0.0.2.

Yes - exactly so. In fact the router has the Server as its DMZ device as
well has having those ports forwarded specifically.
My laptop connected into a spare port on the internet router returns the
same error. It having an IP of 10.0.0.3 and the server 10.0.0.2.
The only odd thing is that if you try http://external_IP/router_start_page
you get a router logon error almost as though the Server were directing
traffic back to the router!

I have a simple problem with two of the servers I maintain. I've run
the
ICEW and RAS wizards sucessfully on both, checked that I have remote
destop
access to both the Server and one of the Clients and forwarded all
ports
(via
DMZ) to the Servers' external NICs but in both cases any attempt to
connect
via RWW or Remote Desktop just results in a HTTP 404 page cannot be
found
error.
There are no errors in the Servers' logs.
