Re: What Benefits does Exchange have over POP?

Personally, I would crap my pants if I lost a weeks worth of certain data!

Jed,

With a good backup solution, you can back up your laptops to the server
as well, and then to tape or other media.

Gregg Hill

That's already taken care of - hence why they wouldn't lose any more than
1 weeks worth of data.

Simple One Advantage Exchange over POP3 - "Synconiztion"

Nothing Different No matter what PC you are at.
You read a Email It shows as Read on the other one.
You reply to an Email the email is in the outbox at the other one.
You don't have a PC you OWA or OMA you can see exactly what you've
read and not read.
Shared Folders, Share Emails, Share Calendars..

1 Stop Shopping.
No Fuss...
Easy Simple...

If someone doesn't want something easier, I can't Imagine why?
(Maybe this is a Government Org, and that's why change is bad LOL

Ok that's fine. But I can't think of any users who are looking to
have access to their e-mail on more than 1 machine. Everyone has
their own laptop - and they don't use anybody else's.
Laptops have a nasty habit of being stolen, lost, and damaged
(dropped).

What happens to their email then?

/kj

Right. And frankly at that point e-mail is generally the least of our
worries compared to other data on the machine. In any case, they'd lose
just what hadn't been backed up in the last 1 week, at the most.
