Hi Paul,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
As I know, this issue happens when the logon user is not in the client
computer's local Administrators group.
After you join the client computer to the domain, it will be restarted, and
the applications will be installed. If the user that logs on the computer
is not a member of the local Administrators group, the applications will
not be installed properly. To solve the problem, you can manually join the
domain user to the client computer's local Administrators group.
To do so, on the client machine:
1. Logon locally as a local administrator, or logon to the domain a domain
administrator.
2. Right click My Computer and click Manage.
3. Go to Local Users and Groups/Groups.
4. Double click Administrators in the right pane.
5. Click Add.
6. Add the domain user that will use the computer.
7. Click OKs to confirm the changes.
8. Logoff and logon as the domain user.
I hope the above info helps.
If there's any update, please don't hesitate to post back.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)
