It's not really a matter of "need". You can get by with one NIC. But two
will give you another layer of security and make troubleshooting a little
easier (can plug a laptop directly into a port on the router and VPN, RDP,
Telnet into the SBS. This allows you to eliminate the router from the
equation when troubleshooting). You also then have the option of attaching
a Wireless Access Point (WAP) to a port on the the router to give "guest"
laptops access to the Internet without having them directly on your internal
SBS LAN (again, this is a security enhancement).
